SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AID
shaping the future in a human way
For us, sustainable development means sustainably improving the lives and quality of life of people suffering underdevelopment, illiteracy, poor nutrition, polluted water, destroyed environments, persecution, distress and abuse. The Lotus Life Foundation supports other non-profit organizations and designs their own projects to sustainably improve living conditions and living spaces.
Since the foundation is still very young, our activities depend on your assistance. Here we introduce projects that are in the middle of funding process or under construction.
STREET CHILDREN PROJECT IN DEHLI, INDIA
There are nearly 6 million street children throughout India! In Delhi, the capital of India, with 11 million inhabitants, approximately 400,000 street children live in the poorest conditions. They sleep at the train stations, under trains, in doorways or in parks. They steal food and gather everything that can be turned into money: rags, bottles, waste paper. On good days they earn 60 rupees, which is just over 1 euro. If they get lucky, work can be found in one of the many street restaurants or as shoeshine. However, if they find nothing, these children will beg or steal.
The worst is uncertainty of finding food or a place to sleep daily. We want to set up welfare stations for the children that will offer warm food and clothes. As a second step, our goal is to create training opportunities and find foster families for the children.
